Tip of the Week: The Clark Fork is fishing very well right now. Fish the grassy banks with a hopper. Trout will hide along shallow bank edges, sweepers, and eddy lines to grab hoppers, ants, and beetles. Skip all the slow mid-river flats and focus strictly on fast, grassy banks and deep undercut structure.

7 Day Outlook: In Missoula, this weekend is going to be cooler with temps in the 60s with a chance of rain on Sunday. The rest of the week is going to be cool with temps in the 50s and 60s with a mix of clouds and rain early in the week and then sunshine later in the week.

Best Techniques: A dry-dropper rig is a great way to attract fish. Tie on a Chubby Chernobyl, More or Less Hopper, or a foam hopper on top, and trail a nymph like a Frenchie, Duracell, or Black Spanish Bullet 3 to 4 feet underneath. Be on the lookout for tricos hatching and fish sipping them on the surface. Streamer fishing is also a great way to move fish with the cooler weather.
