Our Fly Tying Basics Class is intended to be an introduction to fly tying for those with little to no experience. We will cover essential fly tying materials, tools, and material handling skills. Our Fly Tying 201 Class is intended to build on the skills learned in our Fly Tying Basics Class. We will cover 4 new fly patterns that require new materials and more advanced material handling techniques. We aim to give you the confidence and skills necessary to whip up a few dozen flies that you will actually fish! Along the way, we hope to inspire a passion to create your own flies and teach you a little something about how we approach flies and fly fishing. Throughout the class, we will tie several flies proven to work in our home waters around Missoula: The Blackfoot, Bitterroot, Clark Fork, and Rock Creek.
