Several different patterns of the March brown work well but we prefer the parachute. The best may fly fishing even in the spring is under cloudy conditions and visibility is paramount. No one fishes a dry fly they can’t see readily as effective as if they could. Though March browns are rather chunky we find that thinner bodied patterns are always better. These are obviously most effective with a afternoon hatch but often we’ll fish it behind a Skwalla all day.
Try them in Copper in size #14 or #16.
