This isn’t just the best fly fishing frame you can buy—it’s the one designed by guides who lived it.

The Premier Frame, crafted by John Herzer and Leo Larson after years of guiding, was built to be the frame they would want to fish from every single day. And it shows.

Where other brands retrofit general-use whitewater frames and rafts to “work” for anglers—often overseas—this setup was purpose-built. You’re looking at a Montana-made frame, engineered specifically for fly fishing, paired with an American-made raft designed from the water up for serious anglers. This is the real deal.

The Premier Montana Raft Frame includes a raised front seat bar, cooler bar, foot bar, front and rear dry box bars, rear cross bar, stern section with internal anchor system,  anchor rope, side rails, and 8″ oar towers with beautiful powdercoat finish on all of the frame components.

This frame is handcrafted in Montana with attention to every detail- completely designed with the angler in mind. The anchor rope runs internal to the frame- preventing snagging of flies on the rope. The pulleys are all high quality Harken brand. Note the little “basket” that the anchor nests into to keep line tangle around the anchor for the angler in the back.  A powdercoat finish completes the premium look of the raft and prevents the oxidation of the aluminum that transfers black residue to your raft, hands, and clothing.

Not Included: Seats, dry box, and oar locks.

GOAT Frame

Got the MRF Premier frame to go with my Strike and it's been everything I hoped for. Leo and the crew at Montana Raft Frames know what they're doing - these guys have been guiding forever and built this thing exactly how a working frame should be. Everything fits perfectly, no wobble or cheap parts. The seat positioning is spot on, gear storage is thoughtful, and the whole setup just feels solid on the water. Haven't had a single issue with it, and the powder coat finish is holding up great. You can tell it's made by guys who actually spend time on the river. Quality stuff all around - MRF doesn't mess around.
