That sounds like a remarkable trip for any visitor, and an unforgettable trip for any Missoula fishing guide. Even knowing John Herzer's experience and talent personally, it is only an understatement to describe an actual day on the water with Blackfoot River Outfitters. There isn't a "wind knot" too big for this guy, and it's great to see a blog entry like this one.

With an eight year past working as a fly fishing guide in Missoula, I will confidently say that the smoke in the air really does produce spectacular results on a hot summer day, especially throwing large dries and simulators. Typically, many visitors would cancel trips during fire seasons, and as guides had a hard time understanding that. But when the water is low, and they sky is chalky, the fish really can't tell whether it's cloudy or smokey. Keep up the great work John, and hope you get after a big elk this fall. :)

Bruce is, indeed, the man. He fishes more than anybody we know. He wants to work the weekends, because that is when the water is crowded. If he could use a computer, he would appreciate the love. Maybe we will print it out for him.

Mark,
Great to know that somebody out there is reading the blog and making use of the reports. We love Georgetown Lake and it is the first place most of us want to be if we get a day off. We appreciate the feedback. Keep it coming.

I really love the G-town reports. That is a fantastic fishery that can handle a good amount of pressure and you guys have a good handle on the buisness aspect and the fishing. You are the only ones with a G-town report that I know of. These reports got me up there a bunch this year and I had so much fun. Again, the old guy in the shop is great! Thanks.

The older gentleman at the P-burg shop is F-ing great! Everytime i've go in there he has given me the magic. My largest trout ever was caught on the fly he suggested. I am an avid fisher/tier and his help has been fantastic.
